My paintings are about solitude, space and shadows – about the moments between movement. I paint women waiting, longing, thinking... and content. My still life’s and other subject matter evoke the same feeling as the women.
The color in my paintings are as important to the work as the image. I continuously experiment with color relationships and the unexpected combinations that happens while painting. I never know where a painting will end. The backgrounds and moods emerge and change as the work progresses.
